Ingredients
750g beef strips from Hudson Meats
2 heads of broccoli cut into florets
175ml chicken/beef stock
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp corn flour
3 cloves minced garlic
1/2 inch ginger grated
1 red chilli sliced
Marinade
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp corn flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 clove minced garlic
1⁄2 inch ginger grated
Sauce
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp black pepper
Method
- Combine beef with marinade ingredients and set aside
- Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil and pepper in a bowl and set aside.
- Heat olive oil over high heat and add beef. Cook until browned.
- Remove beef from pan and set aside. Lower heat to medium low and add remaining ginger, garlic, chilli and broccoli. Cover pan for 2-3 minutes for broccoli to cook.
- Add beef back to the pan and stir. Pour in sauce and mix.
- Mix cornflour with 2 tbsp water and pour into the pan. Simmer until thickened.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and serve over rice
