Recipe : Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Servings: 4-5
750g beef strips from Hudson Meats
2 heads of broccoli cut into florets
175ml chicken/beef stock
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp corn flour
3 cloves minced garlic
1/2 inch ginger grated
1 red chilli sliced
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp corn flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 clove minced garlic
1⁄2 inch ginger grated
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp black pepper

  1. Combine beef with marinade ingredients and set aside
  2. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil and pepper in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil over high heat and add beef. Cook until browned.
  4. Remove beef from pan and set aside. Lower heat to medium low and add remaining ginger, garlic, chilli and broccoli. Cover pan for 2-3 minutes for broccoli to cook.
  5. Add beef back to the pan and stir. Pour in sauce and mix.
  6. Mix cornflour with 2 tbsp water and pour into the pan. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds and serve over rice
