Jordanian Za'atar | Malouf's Spice Mezza
In many Middle Eastern countries, the most common use of thyme is in the aromatic mixture of za'atar .
Jordanian za'atar is popularised by it heady mix of deep green thyme, spearmint and toasted sesame seeds.
It is almost always mixed with sumac, olive oil and brushed into bread dough and then baked.
The perfect season from roasting lamb, beef, veal, pork or chicken.
Also with grilling robust fish such as mackerel, sardine, salmon and tuna.
Great on salads , grilled cheese and vegetables.
